AutonomeForme | Architetura is an italian architectural office founded by Marco Scarpinato and Lucia Pierro, which aims to define new urban strategies with an ecological and sustainable approach basing his design work on the relationship between architecture and landscape and on the interdisciplinary collaboration.
AutonomeForme intervenes in small and large scale focussing on projects of waterfronts, abandoned industrial zones and new urban centralities. The team has won awards in several international design competitions, including the first prize for the new urban centrality in Rome (inaugurated in 2012, recently mentioned in the Prize RomArchitettura and awarded as one of the best ten complex schools made in Italy in the last thirty years in the competition launched from MiBACT with the Ministry of Education at the Venice Biennale in 2014), the prizes for the Waterfront and the Natural and Anthropic Park in Saline Joniche (winner of the gold medal all’Holcim Award – Europe 2014 and of the prize UrbanPromo-2014) and further awards for projects in Trento, Bergamo, Avigliana,Venezia, Padova, Bologna, Roma, Napoli, Messina, Palermo, Zaragoza e Madrid. His work has been shown in various exhibitions and published in national and international magazines and books.
AutonomeForme is also involved in research activities by organizing „Avvistamenti / ContemporaryCreativities“ a research program now in its sixteenth edition, „Paesaggi Resilienti: Saline Joniche“ a research program focussed on the landscape design and sustainable approach and  also of the  research program „TAZ: Temporary Abandoned Zones“, with the development, beginning in 2002, of projects in the abandoned areas in several Mediterranean areas.
