Architect from the University of Navarra, graduated in 1983 and obtained his doctorate in 1987 (with Honors). In 1991 he won a post as Professor of Architectural Forms Analysis at the University of Valladolid, where he taught until 1994. It was from then until 2009 director of the School of Architecture of Pamplona, where he currently continues to develop his teaching as Professor and Director of the Projects Department. He is Corresponding Member of the Section of Architecture and Fine Arts at the Royal Academy of Doctors of Spain.
His experience in the free exercise of the profession started in 1989. In 1998 he founded the company Otxotorena Architects, with which has earned awards for subsequent work built ; and a selection of his works , often published in national and international publications, has been collected in the monograph ‚Juan M. Otxotorena architecture 2000-10 ‚, TC Cuadernos (n. 95, 2010)..
