Above the roofs of Hamburg

Above the roofs of Hamburg

First the plan was to renovate the old attic floor of the heritage historic building from the
19th century. Due to the preservation of the corner building and the aim to recover the
original architecture, which was partly destroyed after previous restaurations, the architects
decided to remove the old attic structure and add two new stories (one attic- and one gallerylevel).
The building fassade was completely restored on the basis of historic elevations and the
slopes of the roof were shaped implementing multiple folded surfaces.
Six new maisonette apartments for high-quality living with different sizes and ample
roof-terraces had been created.
