Conjunto de Edificios Natura

Conjunto de Edificios Natura

Project Description

Natura represents an exploration of the natural and artificial.
The concept of this project was to explore the beautiful fragmentation and disintegration that leaves undergo in the weathering process and to find a way to translate this phenomenon into concrete, imitating this effect and applying it to the buildings. We felt obliged to apply colour to the project that refers harmoniously to nature. Colour in architecture presents a great challenge and we were determined to explore its effects, bearing in mind, as Mexican architects, the influence of our great master Luis Barragan.
The main material used within the complex is concrete and we applied colour only to the interior and communal areas. We broke up the cold and basic appearance of the concrete with colour details applied all around the complex.
The use of colour creates a warm first impression for the users and also provides a sense of orientation and uniqueness within the housing complex.
