Cuvée Chicago

Cuvée Chicago

Project Description

Cuvée Chicago consciously ‚lights up‘ the traditional nightclub concept, which presented a myriad of challenges not often found in designing dark spaces.  The marble walls, for instance, required multiple mock-ups and adjustments to achieve the right color blend and sufficient light penetration, and also to resolve the issue of thumping nightclub bass causing the marbles to settle from the vibrations.  The furniture needed to be both lavishly upholstered and movable, to provide the option of adjusting seating areas to the changing crowds and VIP groups.  Lighting all of the custom mirrors and various textured surfaces without creating too much ambient light to ruin the mood was also difficult.  Colored light solved this issue in many locations, and also created a more lively and stimulating atmosphere that in typical back-alley nightclubs.  The result of meeting these challenges at Cuvée is a bright and sophisticated backdrop to the crowds themselves, which are given center stage, and the ultimate environment in which to see and be seen.
