Project Description
Being the last property located on an existing settlement, the house benefits from unrestricted views on two sides, opening up from this approximately 150 m² house towards the vastness of the surrounding mountain landscape. The flat-roofed house has been designed at ground level. Its relationship between space and function is based on the individual requirements of the building owner, who is a wheelchair user. The building is orientated towards the open countryside, integrating the alpine mountainside to form part of the unique living experience. All the rooms are arranged around a private atrium, which is located in the centre of the building and designed as a sheltered, exterior room that is not visible from the outside and also serves light and ventilation purposes. The floor-to-ceiling windows and door units are fitted with special darkened glass panes. All the facilities are geared to the special needs of people with impaired mobility.
