Heydt-Kontor

The BDE Federation of the German Waste, Water and Raw Materials Management Industry built its new
headquarters at Von-der-Heydt-Straße 2. The property is located in the former diplomat district in Berlin-Tiergarten
on the southern edge of the „Köbis-Dreieck“ opposite the Bauhaus Archive.
The urban design concept requests a five-storey cube with slightly sloping angles. The materiality of the concrete
facades with rhythmically structured oak-wood windows continues inside the building with concrete ceilings and
walls, cement floors and oak doors and fittings.
On the four upper floors, the offices are oriented to the „Pocket Park“ in the north and the street in the south.
Stairways, elevators and sanitary facilities are located to the west of the central area. The variable communication
areas between the offices are illuminated from the east by loggias / winter gardens and from the west by the open
main stairwell.
The seminar area on the ground floor with an adjoining kitchen can be used flexibly as one space or in three parts.
In the basement there is an underground car park.
