Project Description

Houses for parents and their adult children with their families are set at the top of the plot, with a wonderful view of the Old City and Lokrum Island. The plot contains two buildings: firstly, a two-storey building for the parents, and secondly a building comprising two apartments for the children and their families. A shared outdoor space is inserted between them – a terrace designed for socialising and family gatherings. The pool is in front of the parents’ house, lowered below the terrace level so it does not block the view from the living room. One of the main features of the house is the white façade built with local stone. The whiteness of the façade is underlined by large slits with glass that open up wonderful views of the city. The smaller house is recessed towards the garden to allow greater privacy and the offset façade ensures privacy in the sleeping and living areas.
