Project Description
The interior designers at LEPEL & LEPEL have infused the dining hall of the cafeteria at the Siegburg Local Authority with a brighter and more inviting look-and-feel. The interior design concept is a reinterpretation of the building’s 1970s charm. By making careful use of colors, shapes and structures the space now unfolds fluently from its center to the façade. Floor, ceiling and strip lighting smoothly envelop the pillars of the existing building. Like in a funnel, visitors are now guided from the narrow corridor in the local authority’s basement through the bright canteen to the extensive outdoor patio. The sparing use of colors and materials with the focus on bright and crisp shades contrasts to the introduction of warm colors in the lounge, which is dominated by bright woods and Scandinavian-style furniture. The modern design using high-quality sustainable materials creates a contemporary and friendly atmosphere for those using the cafeteria.
