Project Description
The M House project is located in La Nou de Gaia, a small locality in the north of Tarragona, Spain.
It is a small village, but with an ancient and very well-preserved centre. The house is located in this ancient centre, which rises on the regional plateau, with a defensive historical character, so that the area to the north-west of the village looks out towards “Els masos de Vespella“, with a very attractive view and fantastic sunsets.
The principal elements of the project are the context and the relationship of the house to the landscape and the surroundings. It is closed towards the village, but open towards the valley to the west through large windows, allowing a maximum light into the house. There are four levels with different façades, creating terraces with different characters, depending on the interior use of the volume.
In the interior, open wooden stairs link the four levels, structuring the spaces needed by the client.
The principal materials are concrete, metal and wood, with stone on the exterior.
The building is characterised by sophisticated simplicity.
