Maritime Station in Baiona

Project Description

This is a building for a maritime station in the port of Baiona, for lines of passenger ships operating in this area of Rias Baixas, located on a dam in the centre of the port, between the village and the sea. It is a construction that shelters, but allows the visitor a direct relationship with the outside, rather than being isolated in a privileged environment. The building is laid out as a longitudinal street running through the entire building to their main entrances on the front walls, but it is accessible at several points, allowing the visitor to move freely at all times and opening up a clear view of the berthing areas. The wooden box functions as a large lattice and sun protection for the building, which is integrated into its surrounding environment, appearing as part of the landscape from a distance, when approaching from the sea.
