Montafon House

Montafon House

Project Description

The house is located on the west hillside of the mountain Hochjoch with a great view over the Montafon valley.
Following the terrain profile the building is designed as a family house with three floors.
The entrance at the street level leads to the first floor, where the foyer, the garage and the technical rooms are situated. Starting at the straight stairs the visitor has a view to the both following levels above through the hole house.
At the middle floor an open living concept includes the habitats dining and living. The fireplace and the living area are located on the more private north side.
A covered terrace completes this main level.
The bedrooms and associated bathrooms are on the third floor. An elevator connects all floors.
The house is built of solid construction with glazed parapets on the balcony which opens up a fantastic view over the village and the valley up to the Raetikon mountain massif.
With the combination of wood facade, laminated exterior panels and plastered concrete, the building features one of Vorarlberg’s traditional ways of construction.
