Wine wall in a Penthouse, Tel Aviv

Wine wall in a Penthouse, Tel Aviv

Wine wall in a Penthouse Apartment
The wine wall was designed as part of a Penthouse apartment renovation in Tel Aviv. The apartment is a 180 square meters duplex, with a roof balcony at the upper level. Its renovation included totally new architecture and interior design. The design process led to the concept „floating clouds over dark soil“ that became the main idea for the design, materials and space. It was based on white elements that visualize white clouds, like amorphous shaped glass tables, lighting fixtures and carpets with concrete looking floor tiles. While working on the renovation of the penthouse, there was a request to find an aesthetic solution for storing wine bottles that will follow the concept “ floating clouds“. A decision was made to use a curved wall behind the staircase and create a floating feeling, as if the bottles were hanging on a cloud behind a white staircase that is going to the sky. The bottles were hung on the curved wall . They were deliberately randomly scattered on minimalistic designed fixtures that were mounted on the wall. The fixtures were chosen to be hidden as much as possible so that the bottles would appear as if they were floating in the air. The wall was painted in a special concrete looking gray finish and is illuminated with floor spotlights and beams of light that reach through the stair. intervals above, creating a special designed element
