Project Description
The project responds to its surroundings directly through a largely open site plan that allows the neighbourhood to flow into the interior of the block. The various buildings are positioned naturally as an extension of the city’s fabric. The residences are therefore enhanced by their multiple connections with the district, the gardens, and the neighbourhood.
The orientation also favours porosity and a rhythmic sequencing of the buildings, the opposite of a building built along the street that hides its open space. This approach allows the development of a confident architecture, whose contemporary identity nevertheless establishes a connection to the neighbouring constructions through its use of raw and textured materials and the alternating strips of townhouses.
