Project Description
The universes we inhabit in childhood tend to linger in our memories. It is the time when we interact with architecture in a freer and more genuine way, intuitively creating a hierarchy for the values of architecture. We are interested in identifying the attributes that are appreciated by all and shape our memories.
A square perimeter, autonomous and clear, was set out on the non-conforming terrain. The need for different functions within the school is the pretext for establishing distinct spaces. Each unit is a separate experience in terms of scale, proportion and identity. The aggregation of all the volumes defines its external iconographic value. A sheltered interstitial space is defined in the interior, with a sense of infinity through not disclosing its beginning or end, and used as a recreational venue.
The structure composed of voids and occupied volumes mimics the principles that have always been part of urban agglomerations. An all-purpose opening was devised, along with a unified wall and ceiling finish for all spaces. The economic simplicity of these elements brings out the diversity of the spaces. A peaceful succession of moments constitutes the intensity of this new universe.
