Project Description
Segreto is a contemporary house in a residential colonial area in Chimalistac, Mexico City.
The area where Secreto is located has a historic colonial character untouched by the chaotic sprawl that has occurred elsewhere. The design does not seek to blend into the context, but at the same time preserves elements of the language of the past.
The goal of the design is to achieve an interaction between the inside and the outside, a natural transition from the historical surroundings to the modern interior.
As part of the architectonic discourse, and also for durability and maintenance reasons, very few detailed finishes were applied, concrete being one of the materials used most for this project , because it does not age or deteriorate and because it gains dignity over time.
The result is a house with open spaces where events are highlighted by natural light and views from the garden.
