TOR 149

TOR 149

Project Description

A new, innovative and elegant residential building with a striking form has been created in Berlin-Mitte. It is an avant-garde building structure at the heart of Berlin, generous and with modern transparency. This property on a trapezoid site offers an exceptional residential experience that rethinks architecture, blurring the boundaries between architecture and design. The architects took on the challenges presented by the location. Tor 49 cites the form language of the Berlin founding period with and applies it to the 21st century. The shimmering aluminium on the external façade is a prominent stylistic feature, with its crystalline surface reflecting the sky over the city and changing appearance according to the incidence of light. The house is therefore a striking visual accent. Owing to faceted façade elements that capture the light variously, for a moment the building appears to be rotating and then turning away as one walks past it. High ceilings, extensive terraces and south-facing windows with sunshine all year round provide ample space. The elegant apartments flooded with light convey the spirit of the times, with innovative layouts, carefully chosen materials and stylistic design elements. The lobby itself is an experience, bathed in golden light. When you step inside you leave the hustle and bustle of the city behind you.
