Project Description

The building seeks to provide a solution for the existing urban void, while establishing a continuous public relationship between the Alcazaba and Plaza de la Cava Alta, by means of a stairway to the side of the building linking the different levels.

The main entrance to the three-storey building is from the Plaza de la Cava Alta, while the top floor can be accessed at the opposite end towards the Alcazaba. The building has a longitudinal orientation, with circulation concentrated at the base, which is dug into the ground. The stairs and lift are supported by the retaining wall. Skylights allow natural light to pervade all the spaces on the three floors and the circulation areas. The façade towards the Alcazaba features a cantilever that shelters the inner glass.
