Project Description
The design concept represents modernity within the landscape of Cianciana, with a modest volume that enters into a dialogue with nature. The building interacts with the surrounding landscape, using a contemporary form language that evokes Mediterranean architecture.
The volume is reduced in height, by replacing the double pitched roof with flat roof, providing the surface area required for fully-integrated solar panels that ensure complete energy self-sufficiency. The design includes outdoor space, arranged as a system of terraces that conform to the topography and form a coherent whole with the volume of the house.
The new proportions express horizontality and simplicity. The volume is defined by the repetition of dynamic apertures of a consistent height, but different width, which make the façades more dynamic and distribute light in the interior spaces.
The main front has a roof made of Corten steel, consisting of a filtered pattern of slender vertical elements, which protects the fully glazed wall of the living space and forms a porch.
