Michele Saee believes that architecture is a part of everyday life, and that the work of architecture reflects our needs, our desires and our ability to improve the quality of our relationsjips with creativity and adventure.
Michele Saee received his Master of Art in Architecture degree in 1981 at the University of Florence School of Architecture and his post grdauate degree in Technical Urban Planning at the Polytechic of Milan.
He began his professional career working with Superstudio in italy and then joined Morphosis in Santa Monica, California, after moving to LosAngeles in 182,. He started his own design firm, Building, in 1985. Michele joinged the design faculty at Oits College of Art and Design in 1986, and in 1990 began teaching at the Southern Calirnia Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc) where he is currently a faculty member.
Many of Michel’s identifications with the global community stem from his diverse experences living studying and traveling extensviely, and communication in serveral different languages.
Michele Saee exhibits and lectures on architecture in many coutnries around the world. In the past 17 years he’s completed over 70 prjects and built more than half of them. The Museum of Modern Art in San Francisco and FRAC collection in France both contain holdings of his work in their permanent collections and Rizzoli International published a monograph of his projets in 1997. Magazine publications include GA Japan, Domus International, Progressive Architecture, Blueprint, The Los Angeles Times, and Metropolitan Home.
In 1995, he was chose as one of the „Forty under Forty“ most promising American architects, and in 1997 the Architectural League of New York selected him as one of architecture’s „Emerging Voices“. The same year he received the American Institute of Architects‘ „next LA“ Honor Award and the AIA/LA Design Award. He was selected in the year 2000 as one of Los Angeles‘ 12 promising architets of his generation in „The Los Angeles Twelve“ program.
