Project Description
When our client demanded three rectangular residential towers on a site with an irregular shape, surrounded by a winding stream and by clusters of poplar trees around the neighbouring sports park, we took it upon ourselves to come up with a different approach: a building that integrates the three separate units as one unified volume, with a layout that undulates on the site, making the most of the natural light and views, but also providing a sheltered, intimate and quiet area in the resulting concave space. This space is an artificial landscape, a green leisure and relaxation area that is shaped like a green roof over the underground parking.
Particular emphasis was placed on the balcony motif, which led to an overall aesthetic that evokes the slow horizontal flowing movement of the nearby stream. On the vertical axis, the apartments are set in an amphitheatre layout that serves as an observation point from above, which allows for spectacular views of the city and beyond. The building has 220 apartments of different sizes, all bound up in one clear and articulate architectural gesture.
