Project Description
The Kėdainiai Arena is a distinctive element of the Kėdainiai sports complex, designed to revitalise a northern part of Kėdainiai city. Together with a city stadium and a newly-created public square, the Arena has the full potential to become a new centre of attraction for the younger generation, as well as senior citizens. The Kėdainiai Arena is a multifunctional sports and leisure complex serving public requirements, for cultural as well as sports events. It will host a city sport school, Kėdainiai basketball team and major public events. The Arena can easily be adapted to different usage requirements.
The building can be characterised as an example of contemporary architecture and universalism. The Kėdainiai Arena is a cost-efficient building blending aesthetics and functionality.
The Arena is designed as a laconic shape featuring concrete, glass and galvanised steel as construction materials. The interior of the building is minimalistic, in order to focus attention on the arena or the stage.
