Project Description
The municipality selected a clearing with individual beautiful pine trees as a building site. The idea of the treehouse design is based on a folded leaf that links indoor and outdoor space seamlessly. THE TREEHOUSE consists of five elements: two cabins on different levels, connecting terraces, flights of stairs and the linking roof element. The cabins and upper terraces rest on 19 slanting steel supports that are freely arranged. The lower stairs and the intermediate platforms are supported by a pine tree by means of steel cables and special fixings. The steel supports are fixed into the earth with drill screws. This technique avoided the use of concrete and minimised the impact on the forest ground.
The lower level houses a café-lounge, a little pantry, the toilet area and a utility room. The upper level, the exquisite conference room amidst the trees, is the centrepiece of the treehouse. Softly upholstered benches on three sides enhance the relaxed atmosphere of the room and are pleasantly comfortable. The elegant interior of both levels is enhanced by picture wallpaper with branch graphics on the rounded and straight ceilings. Visitors can let their creativity run free with chalk on walls coated with chalkboard paint in the toilet.
