Project Description
In Münster there is a brewery. That’s to say the Germania Brewery, which was closed in 1984. The former brewery site was converted and the heritage protected main brewery building and an artificial lake now form the core of the new lifestyle district that has been established there. It lies just outside the city centre, about five minutes by car from the old town.
Factory hotel now resides in the brewery building. The public areas of the modern design hotel are located in the main building, whilst the 144 rooms are housed in an adjoining new build. There the guests are accommodated not far from the liveliness of the district, but are still guaranteed an undisturbed night’s sleep. The new building also exudes the industrial charm that has been largely preserved in the old building. For example in the spacious rooms the raw concrete walls remain visible, so as to create a connection between the new build and the industrial architecture of the brewery.
Two themed restaurants indulge the hotel guests’ taste buds.
You can either enjoy Spanish tapas and Mediterranean snacks in “La Tapia”, or else traditional German-Austrian cuisine in the stylish atmosphere of “Eat”. For nighttime revellers the hotel has its own club called “Grey”. In the basement of the hotel building, divided between two levels, alternating DJs play a mixture of dance classics and cool funk, electro and house beats.
The historical and traditional blends with contemporary design: heritage protected and modern, industrial elements and homely comfort, near the city centre and in a quiet location – Factory Hotel combines seeming opposites into a unique overall concept.
>>> Facts: The artificial lake, right next to the hotel terraces, is used as an ice rink in winter.
